Spencer  serves as  the Managing Director for Frank Crystal & Company’s Yacht Division based in Palm Beach, Florida.   He began his insurance career in 1987 and building on his life-long knowledge of yachts and sailing, established S. Lloyd Underwriters in 1988.  After developing a solid reputation in both the yachting and insurance industry, S. Lloyd Underwriters was acquired by Brown & Brown in 1995.     He hails from a family with marine history as second generation maritime seamen and third generation marine mechanics.  He has captained both power and sailing yachts in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as well as the Mediterranean & Caribbean seas. 

 From 1997 – 2004 he owned The JIB Yacht Club & Marina on Jupiter Island, Florida.  He is an active member of the The Marine Industries Association of South Florida, Florida Clean Marina Program as well as the Florida Yacht Brokers Association.
