Group Benefits

Our Group Benefits offerings cover the full range of insurance products: medical and prescription drug coverage, ancillary lines (e.g., dental, vision, life insurance), voluntary products (e.g., accident insurance, long-term care insurance), and a number of specialized products that include Business Travel Accident Insurance and International Benefits.

All of the above are delivered within the context of a comprehensive array of consulting and implementation services. These services include, but are not limited to, strategic planning, underwriting analysis, benefit plan design and funding (Fully Insured, Self-Funding, Minimum Premium, etc.), benchmarking, claim and utilization analysis, worksite wellness program development, compliance reviews, and employee communications.

We see each Group Benefits opportunity as unique. We invest the time to learn the business plan, culture, and benefits philosophy of the client, with the goal of creating a viable, long-term strategic plan. A key part of that plan is the control of medical benefits cost. While not every strategy applies or is acceptable to every organization, here are examples of important concepts we look to employ on the client’s behalf:

  • Employer strategies should promote choice, not simply shift risk
  • Vendor selection and network discount analysis can produce reductions in cost
  • Health risk assessment and medical management offer opportunities for dramatic long-term cost reductions
  • A defined contribution approach to funding can help drive adoption of plans aligned to employee needs
  • HRA/HSA options should be explored
  • Voluntary, employee-paid benefits should be integrated with core benefits to allow employees to buy-down financial risk based upon their individual needs
